HOW DO I REPORT A TRAFFIC LIGHT THAT IS OUT OF ORDER?
When to report: As soon as you notice traffic the light is not functioning in the absence of a wider power outage
Necessary information: The exact location of the traffic light.
Who to contact and how: Report this to the Johannesburg Roads Agency by:

– Mailing hotline@jra.org.za
– Using the JRA’s Twitter/X account: @MyJra
Note: The app PotholeFixGP, an initiative of Gauteng Transport and Roads, can be used to report various road-related issues. It is available from Google, Apple and Huawei app stores. Once you have downloaded the app you need to register before making a report.
Tips: Be sure to get a reference number so you can escalate the matter if no action is taken
HOW DO I REPORT A POTHOLE ?
When to report: As soon as you notice the pothole.
Necessary information: The exact location of the pothole and, if possible, a photo of the pothole.
Who to contact and how: There are three apps for reporting potholes.
– Pothole Patrol App, a partnership between Discovery, Avis and City of Joburg. Download it from Google Play or IOS app store.
– PotholeFixGP, an initiative of Gauteng Transport and Roads, available from Google, Apple and Huawei app stores.
– Vala Zonke, a national Department of Transport facility, available from Google Play and Apple app store.
In all cases you need to download the app and register on it before reporting.
You can also use the Pothole WhatsApp Bot by WhatsApping “Hi” to 084-POTHOLE (084 768 4653) and following the prompts.
Finally, you can report the pothole to the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) by:
